This Is Me--2024 A to Z Theme

My A to Z Themes in the past have covered a range of topics and for 2024 the theme is a personal retrospective that I call "I Coulda Been" which is in reference to my job and career arc over my lifetime. I'll be looking at all sorts of occupations that I have done or could have done. Maybe you've done some of these too!

We're Done--For Now ( #BOTB Results )

The workers are now gone and the work is done for the most part.  We're going to rest a few days and then take on the next project.  Gotta decide what that project will be.

But for today let's see what happened in my last Battle of the Bands....

Battle of the Bands Results

My most recent Battle was an old movie song called "We're the Couple in the Castle" as performed by Glenn Miller and Lisa Hindmarsh.   I kind of figured that more voters would go for the more known factor of Glenn Miller, but in this round the newer lesser known artist won the most votes including my own.

Final Vote Tally

Glenn Miller              3 votes

Lisa Hindmarsh        10 votes

Next Battle on Saturday January 15th

As long as the inspiration is there I'll do the Battle.   But in the end it's the usual battle between me and me getting around to doing the Battle of the Bands post.  We'll see.

  2. LEE ~

I wouldn't have imagined such a blowout in this match-up. But then again, when even I don't vote for my favorite - Glenn Miller - that's probably a pretty solid sign that a blowout is on the horizon.

And that Linda Hindmarsh recording (whoever she is) was quite good.

My last 3 BOTB contests, combined, have been decided by a total of just 5 votes. What that tells me is that I am now very much due for a blowout of my own.

See ya in the next round, Buddy!

  3. I just flat out missed this one, Lee. My bad... Lisa Hindmarsh. What a find. She was magnificent... I would still have voted for Glenn Miller. That band blew it out of the water. Ray Eberle's vocals were typically solid, if not spectacular.

  4. WOW, Lee I meant to get over when I noticed this post in my in-box and got busy. Gee, I'm sorry for the late visit. I'm on the side of the winner this time. Yay, me! Anywho, glad to hear this project is done. Rest and enjoy the renovations before the next project begins. Have a good weekend, my friend!

  5. Cannot go for either own. Glenn Miller is the only one I know.
