This Is Me--2024 A to Z Theme

My A to Z Themes in the past have covered a range of topics and for 2024 the theme is a personal retrospective that I call "I Coulda Been" which is in reference to my job and career arc over my lifetime. I'll be looking at all sorts of occupations that I have done or could have done. Maybe you've done some of these too!

We Preempt This Post for an Important Announcement

There was another post scheduled for today but then I changed it.  Actually I've had a few different posts scheduled for today but I've changed them as new ideas took precedent.  But that in itself is going to be a topic of an upcoming post.  I won't say when that post will be since that date might change.  Change can happen, right?  So let me tell you what's happening right now.

But first....!

Yes, actually, first let me present another "Comment about a comment" based on my post at the beginning of the year titled "Where Am I Now Anyway?".  Here is one more:

Ha! That's awesome :) Since I usually write posts at night and schedule them for early morning, while I'm still asleep, the time disparity definitely happens for me too. I think its fascinating that we can do it that way, although you're right about possible miscommunication or misunderstanding. Sarah Allen (my creative writing blog)

  1. Crikey, blimey, Lee - that's some big news!

I was part of A-Z last year and it served me well. Sadly won't be able to participate this year as working furiously on revising WIP (an agent waiting to see it so know you'll understand ;)

But I'll plug wherever I can and wish you all the best with it.
It was fab for me and I met some wonderful bloggers.

  2. Good info!

Ok... I just signed up. This is a super busy time for me, but I enjoyed the challenge very much last year, that I couldn't pass it this year :-)

    Thank you, Lee.

  4. You're a writing machine. And good thing because you have so many blogs to write for and let's mention the A-Z.

  7. Awesome news Lee, I just hope the sheer volume of sign ups is going to be enough to manage! Love your comment on a comment feature too, it's seriously good stuff man.

  8. Blue Mum-- Still plenty of time to change your mind.

Doris - You're a pro at this now so you shouldn't have any problem with it.

Jeremy -- 1000 by Monday would be outstanding.

Teresa -- You've been a big help in getting out the word.

Alex -- Your influence carries a lot of weight so thanks.

Shelly -- Ah come on, Shelly, you can fit it in. Think about it a bit more.

Matthew -- I still have a lot of those comments left. I haven't forgotten about them.

  11. HI, Lee,

Wow this is exciting... I need to sign up. I had SUCH a great time last year... I did swear it took up so much time, but I am more prepared this year and might start writing my posts ahead of time.

I nearly killed me last year writing them the day before.

Congrats on the amazing success of this challenge!

I am so looking forward to meeting new friends and writing some amazing posts. My last year's posts are something I am very proud of and hope to do something with them soon.

    Have a great weekend!

  12. That was a pleasant surprise...I clicked on this post and saw my face! Made me feel special, thanks for that.

I'm already getting excited for A-Z, I'll start announcing it on my blog, twitter, facebook, all those good places.

  13. Sia -- And the video illustrates a great theme for the April Challenge.

Matthew -- That's the way it works! Pass it on! Soon all the world will know.

Michael -- Yes, do join up again. I wrote my posts the night before in the first year. It can be frantic fun, but it takes away visiting time. Doing at least a few posts ahead of time helps.

Sarah-- Your comment was the next in line and it seemed so appropriate to include in my post for today. Thanks for all the promo help that you'll be giving the Challenge.

Kudos to Dale Smurthwaite for creating such a clever way of promoting the 'A To Z Blogfest'. (That sort of advertising would be right up DiscConnected's alleyz.)

  15. Sort of like Doublespeak in 1984. Funny, we were just talking about that in work today! Hmmm, small world. ;)

  16. 1000 by March will be great. I did a little promo post this week and will do another next week. It's really getting exciting.

  17. I'm plugging it on my blog and every email I send out. Your goal of 1,000, before March, 1 seems very obtainable.

  18. StMc -- I alerted Larry about Dale's video when it first came out. It reminded me of Larry's A to Z posts last year.

IBD -- Maybe like doublespeak in a way. And with the elections coming up it seems like there is more and more doublespeak to be heard, but don't get me started on that.

Susan GK -- Thanks for your efforts. That's exactly what it will take to reach our goals.

Jenn -- You're right! We can do it!

  19. Blogging is media juggling That is very true. I also schedule some posts days before and as you say other things crop up to change the scheduling.
Good luck with getting 1000 participants Lee. Awesome!

  20. I do believe it will reach 1000! I've not been blogging much as I have to get my wip out by March 1st but will get on to it after that date. I'm signed up and looking forward. Oh, by the way, I LOVE your new look! It is so gorgeous and groovy and other g words!

  21. This will be my first time on board the A-Z. I'm petrified! But . . . I'm definitely juggling the media with a bit of pre-blogging. It will be interesting to see how all of this goes!

  22. Great advice! Hadn't thought of bulletin boards. I also recommend posting in forums you may be a part of. I've rallied a few people that way.

  25. Comments are blocked on your newest post (Monday's). Perhaps this is by design, but thought you might like to know.

I put in brief word for the Challenge today as well. Have a great week,
