I've got some Battle of the Band results to post, but first I'll make some reflections on my recent Blogging from A to Z April Challenge experience.
It was a good year I thought. I managed to post as I should daily in April and wasn't too stressed about it. I enjoyed the content I posted and hopefully some of you did as well. Simplicity was my goal and I think I achieved it.

Battle of the Bands Results
My recent Battle was between the groups Badfinger and Electric Light Orchestra. I have so many more memories associated with Badfinger that they are my general favorite. I do enjoy the classical music setting of ELO and there is not a thing wrong with their music in my view. I just prefer Badfinger.
Final Vote Tally
Badfinger 2 votes
Electric Light Orchestra 8 votes
Next Battle on May 15
That's my plan and I'm not planning to change it yet.
Cool ELO won.
ReplyDeleteI'm not on my computer as much anymore either. I have a life to live.
Dang it. Life intervened and I did not get my vote in! FWIW, I would have voted for Badfinger. ~Ed.
ReplyDeleteThe struggle to do a good job of visiting is one of the many reasons I don't do A2Z anymore.
ReplyDeleteRebecca, with or without A to Z I don't visit other blogs much like I used to. I try sometimes, but often fall short.

I'm glad you a less stressful A2Z season. While I'm busy doing computer stuff, mostly cleaning up archived files that take up room. A job I should've done as I go but you know how that goes - you say I'll save it to look at it later or use this tomorrow and it never happens. Not to meantion, I'm a photo hoarder. I can't part with pictures I've taken because I'm afraid I'll need the image someday. Well, I'm not doing that now. I compare similar pictures and delete the ones I don't like or if it's obviously a horrible photo it goes in the trash can. I'm sure everything will fall into place for you and me eventually where our blogging life is concerned. There's really more to each day than sitting in front of a computer.
ReplyDeleteYour BOTB outcome was a decisive victory for ELO. That's who I went with in this round. :) Have a bandtastic day, Lee!
Cathy, you and just about everyone else went with ELO.
DeleteYou sound very industrious. I think about those things you're doing, but don't do them.

When I participate, I usually write all the posts ahead. This time, I wrote maybe 10 posts ahead and then just tried to stay ahead of the pub dates after that. A little stressful while I was in the middle of edits, but I'd missed this blog hop the past few years. Glad we both made it! @samanthabwriter from

Lee - I am sincerely sorry I didn't get to your blog to vote this time. In the whole history of the BotB I think I have only missed two or three. I was traveling by RV this last couple of weeks and have either been driving 12 hour days or landing at places where I cannot get internet. And my stupid phone will not act as a mobile hotspot, either.
ReplyDeleteThis was a good contest, one that I would have loved to vote in. I am a fan of both bands and was back in their heydays. I thought about seeing ELO on tour this summer but will probably choose to save dough! Tickets are not cheap like they were in 1972! I am still not sure who I would have voted for after listening.
Poor Badfinger! The saddest story in music, if you ask me.
Sixgun
Six, that's okay. I don't guess this one could have been saved without an onslaught of Badfinger fans jumping in. Badfinger should have had greater more lasting success, but, yes, theirs is a sad tale of rock music.
DeleteHave a great trip. Try to catch the next Battle on the 15th.

Quite a blowout, R. LEE BOID.
ReplyDeleteInterestingly, back when ELO was big, I really didn't care for their music much. I didn't actively dislike it, but I could take it or leave it. Never bought an ELO album in my life. (I used to know that guy who appeared on the cover of their 'Discovery' LP.)
But after getting old...(er), I found that I enjoy their music a good deal more than I did in my yout. Maybe it's partially a "nostalgia" effect, I dunno.

STMcC, yeah, I'm kind of the same. I always enjoyed hearing their music, but I didn't ever go far out of my way to hear it.
