This Is Me--2024 A to Z Theme

My A to Z Themes in the past have covered a range of topics and for 2024 the theme is a personal retrospective that I call "I Coulda Been" which is in reference to my job and career arc over my lifetime. I'll be looking at all sorts of occupations that I have done or could have done. Maybe you've done some of these too!

When My Words Won't Do

My after-road-trip slump has gotten a bit ridiculous.   And a bit of a summer bug that I picked up somewhere along my journey hasn't helped much.  I'm in a real doldrum of late and can't seem to get things together.  I don't think I've slept so much ever before in my life as I have this past week.

I've decided to skip the controversy today and postpone my report on my reluctant trip to Ecuador until Wednesday....I hope.

          I don't get sick much, but when I do it's a doozy.

Thank all of you for understanding.

Have any of you picked up whatever has been going around this summer?    How have you dealt with it?

  1. I'm sorry, Lee!
And bummer, the video has been removed, so I can't watch it. But that's all right. We know how you feel.

  2. Great t see you back Lee! Just have to sleep it off. Rest up. I wish I could have the time to sleep more. That's probably what helps make many people sick in the first place.

  3. Sleep is important and if your body needs it, just give in and sleep.

  4. Hope you're back to yourself soon Lee. I've always admired your ability to blog consistently and maintain multiple blogs. At some point we all get a little burnt out. Enjoy your break.

  6. A vet once told me that we could learn a lot about taking care of ourselves from our pets, When they are sick, they sleep, sleep, sleep. It's good advice. Will look for you when you are feeling better. Blessings!

  7. My cat has been what's going around this summer and has been responsible for all of my lack of sleep.

  8. Sleeping is how our body heals itself. Hope you didn't catch something on your trip.

Traveling is one of the easiest ways to get sick, when we don't keep to our usual schedules and we're around a lot of other people who may be contagious.

    Get well soon!

  12. Get well soon. You're like my dad, once a year he gets a cold and it's so bad his workaholic but has to stay home. But has pushed through the last year or two and so will you.

  13. I know you must be pretty darn sick as you are the last blogger I would think of as willing to take a break!
Now that I know what's up, I will just say that there have been times this summer that I just haven't felt
quite right, but nothing like this! Hope you are back to yourself in no time!

  14. I agree with Jo -- Sleep! Your body is healing and will be back to normal soon.

No summer bugs for me, but had the flu in March. I didn't even know it for 3 days; thought it was a sinus infection. But once I was diagnosed, I hit the bed and let the family take over. :)

  15. These times can be like seeds underground...there is value in the waiting. Even dormant seeds and bulb hold a place for new plants and new blossoms to begin. I have no question but that this time will yield cornucopiate for you, dear Lee. Feel better.

  16. Have a good rest. Sometimes the body just needs to sleep, and it'll do whatever it takes to get that sleep. At least, that's what I think every time I get a cold that comes out of nowhere.

    Feel better soon.
