The Manhattan Project--2016 A to Z Theme

Always a work in progress--welcome to my blog...

Thursday, January 27, 2011

I'm not posting anything new today and here's why:

I want to continue to focus on yesterday's announcement.  If you missed it be sure to scroll down to see the Wednesday message or click here.

At the time I write this post the challenge has reached the 75th participant.    We're off to a good start.  If you didn't sign up yesterday, I encourage you to do so today.   Remember, we're shooting for at least 300 in this challenge, but Alex's 500 would be even better.

I saw many excuses out there of why you couldn't do this.  Well, I say you can!  Remember, you have two months to prepare for this.   You are creative enough and you won't run out of ideas--there are plenty for each letter.   Don't discredit yourself.  It can be all for fun or for building your platform or whatever you want to make of it.  This is the challenge of accessing endless possibillities in an enjoyable way.

Also, I want to thank all of you who have already put up the badge and in some cases even posted about the challenge.   That's what it's going to take to really make this challenge a success.

Click on the links for Alex, Jen, and Talli and read the comments so far if you haven't done so already.  Those links can be found in my post of yesterday (I'm having a computer issue right now that makes it difficult for me to add links).

Let's try to get the Linky count up to 200 by Monday.  Please pass the word.

  1. It's a fun idea, and I'm very tempted. I'll give it some thought. I'm not worried so much by the creativity as by the planning. I came via Sandra Ulbrich Almazan's blog and she has the prep well in hand, with good advice for anyone worried about this aspect.

  2. I've started already getting my post written as between now and April I will be busy, hope you reach your target,

  3. If bloggers understood the benefits, they'd sign up in a heartbeat! And neither the six days a week nor the letters of the alphabet are that challenging. Like Yvonne, I already have my posts planned.

  4. I signed up. I'm number 80. I'm also following your blog. thanks.

  5. oops i foget. Do we post Mon-Fri throughout April or is Alex correct, we post on Sat also?

  6. Porky -- A to Z is a whole bunch of fun. You should go ahead and do it.

Yvonne -- Go get 'em! I need to start organizing my posts as well.

Alex -- You are so right. I continue to think up and hear additional benefits as well.

Kathy -- Thank you! Your input will be a tremenous benefit to others who are participating.

Greg -- Alex is correct. 26 days in April Mon thru Sat with Sundays off.

  7. I've started my list of words by letter. I'll add a mention soon to a post :)

  13. Jules -- Getting a head start is a good plan. Appreciate any help we can get to spread the word.

Larry - I know. I was using an old advertising trick to catch your attention. I guess it worked? I will have to find out about the Linky tool question.

PCS -- It was a people helping people thing last year and that's what made it so great.

Sig -- We're off to a good start considering it's two months ahead of the event.

Raquel -- Glad you're back. You, me, and a lot of others were new to blogging last year and the challenge really gave us all a boost didn't it.

Elizabeth -- Don't be afraid! We're all friends here and I think you will find the Challenge to be a tremendously rewarding experience.

  14. I've already signed up and started planning for the toughies. Like X,Y and Z. Those should be very interesting.

  15. I just signed up--No. 90!

And I'll put up the image on my Current Participation page.

  16. L.A. -- Glad you're with us. Planning ahead is the smart way to go.

Golden Eagle -- If any of your readers missed our announcements I hope they'll follow your example and join the roster. I think A to Z will be a breeze for you.

  17. I'm signed up for the event and very excited to participate. I'm already working on topics for each letter.

  18. Found you through Gregg over at Gospel-driven Disciples. Looking forward to this challenge and new follower. Happy Friday! :o)

  19. You're well on your way to 200 by Monday. I'm still thinking about it, too. It's a huge commitment.

  20. Stephen Tremp -- I know you'll add a lot to the Challenge. Thanks!

Seams Inspired -- Glad you heard about it and joined in. My thanks to Gregg.

    L. Diane -- We're going to hit the 300 mark by April. Help us do it by joining up and telling others about it.

Carol -- It's not really that huge. C'mon Carol, you can do it!

  21. I signed up! Now I'll start biting my nails...

  22. R-LEE-BOID ~
I don't imagine you expected me to sign up for A TO Z, but I figured I ought to at least say something about it.

In the first place, even if I did sign up for it and attempt it, you already know from my track record that I'd only quit on you in the middle of it (or just beyond the middle, at the letter "O"). :o)

But aside from being a quitter, I can assure you I won't be blogging at all by the time April gets here.

So... just in case you wuz wunderin' why you ain't heard a peep outta me 'bout dis, now ya knowz.

But I hope y'all have fun with it, and I will check in on it at least a few times to see wha's up.

  23. Laura -- Glad you're in, now just relax and have fun.

Stephen McC-- Did you get my e-mail? C'mon you can do your posts now and you won't need to blog in April. I think the idea I presented to you in the e-mail is workable.
