If I had a million dollars for every blog post I've done about Battle of the Bands I'd be surprised. And I'd probably still be broke. Life is like that sometimes. In any case, with every BOTB post comes a results post. And this is another one...
Battle of the Bands Results
My most recent Battle was a contest between sixties pop groups Dino, Desi, & Billy and Gary Lewis & the Playboys. I like both groups pretty well and they both presented good versions of the old Cyrkle song "Turn Down Day". I was tempted to give my vote to DD&B because I do like their version and they needed the help with the vote. Still, my vote wouldn't have made much difference, so I stuck with my real choice of Gary Lewis and gang. I liked the orchestration and fuller vocals better. So did most of the voters I guess...
Final Vote Tally
Dino, Desi, & Billy 2 votes
Gary Lewis & the Playboys 8 votes
Next Battle on Sunday June 1st

I highly respect the fact that you didn't discard your "Intellectual Honesty" and vote for DD&B in order to help alleviate the severity of the blowout.
Anybody who knows me even a wee li'l bit knows that my [Link> #1 Rule Of Selfhood is "Intellectual Honesty" (a term that sounds like "bibbidi-bobbidi-boo" in the 21st Century).
In my 65 years of life, I would guess that I have known only 10 persons whom I considered to be 100% "Intellectually Honest" (only 9, if I don't count myself).
So, you dun goot, Boidman. Kudos to you, my friend! Your "next one will be better" (as Ed Wood said).

Hello Arlee, I am so happy to have found you again! We used to follow each other's blogs when I was at Linda's Peaceful Place. I had no computer for more than 7 years and due to the amount of time that had passed, I lost access to my old blog.
ReplyDeleteI have missed you!
I started a new blog at the end of March, Linda's Relaxing Lair (link to my blog is in my profile).
I wanted you to know that I am thinking of you, that I have started blogging again, and where you can find me now.
Take good care of yourself and warm greetings from Montreal, Canada.
