This Is Me--2024 A to Z Theme
My A to Z Themes in the past have covered a range of topics and for 2024 the theme is a personal retrospective that I call "I Coulda Been" which is in reference to my job and career arc over my lifetime. I'll be looking at all sorts of occupations that I have done or could have done. Maybe you've done some of these too!

Last Post of 2019 ( #BOTB Results )
For a post that sounds like it could--and perhaps should--be significant in some way, this one won't be that although a holiday greeting does seem timely...
Blog visiting seems to have dropped off this month, but that's not too unusual in the month of December. Sorry if I haven't been to your blog of late, but I've been thinking about you. I've been thinking about a lot of things of late, but I guess I always am....
Battle of the Bands Results
My recent Battle featured the Beatles song "Lady Madonna" as presented by two artists from southern Louisiana--Fats Domino and Potliquor. I wasn't sure how this one would turn out and my vote could have gone either way. I decided on Potliquor since it was the version to which I was endeared nearly fifty years ago. Seems absurd to speak in those terms now--50 years--and now we are coming to the end of yet another year. See how we run!
Final Vote Tally
Fats Domino 9 votes
Potliquor 6 votes
Next Battle on Wednesday January 1st
I wish all of you the best of Christmas and New Year. Let us hope that everybody we'll be nicer to each other next year. By the appearance of things in the United States and the world you might think things are terrible, but really they're not. I've seen worse...
What do you most look forward to in 2020? Will you be spending Christmas with others this year or mainly be alone? What kind of year was 2019 to you?

Have a beautiful Christmas and New year that will be happy and healthy. I’m glad Fats won and looking forward to your next battle. We are having my brother and his daughter with her partner over tomorrow for Christmas as we celebrate Christmas Eve. We won’t celebrate Christmas Day with my hubby’s family until the 27th because of his sister’s work. I am hoping that I will be healthy in 2020. I am hoping to see less fires in the world. Less people killing big game especially endangered animals (notes the nastyTrumps brats). I wish there would be less bullying, less shootings and , for me, more active.
ReplyDeleteBirgit, I'm looking forward to great things in the year to come.

That was a good Battle, LEE. Potliquor made a contest of it, despite the impression I'd gotten that Fats was cleaning up.
ReplyDeleteHave a joyful Christmas and a safe New Year's Eve, and I'll see you on the Musical Battlefields next year.

Merry Christmas, Arlee! It'll be another quiet one for us, just the way we like it. See you next year!
ReplyDeleteJohn, nothing wrong with a quiet peaceful Christmas--especially for us old codgers.

Have a great holiday Lee; let's hope no one takes pictures of you with a lampshade on your head (does anyone do that anymore? lol)!
ReplyDeleteMitch, I don't think I have to concern myself with any wild carousing in my house and that's where I'll likely be for any festivities this year.

Lee,
ReplyDeleteBelated Merry Christmas to you, my friend!! My time in Blogosphere has been spotty but I've tried making rounds to those who stopped by place. I still have a lot of catching up to do, though. :)
It looks like my artist pick won this time, so 'YAY, ME!'
What I'm looking forward to in 2020 is a new year to reach goals that I missed this year! Sometimes obtain goals is more complex and other times focus is an issue but regardless of what the reason, I'm not going to bet myself up too badly. Instead, I'll try again in the new year. :) At Christmas is was just the two of us. Schedules didn't work out for all the family members, but hopefully next year things will be different for everyone. We had a good one. It was bit busier than I wanted as we went out on Christmas Eve to buy a camera security system that was at a good price, so we spent some time on Christmas getting things charged and this weekend, we're working on getting it setup. This year wasn't a standup one but it wasn't totally dismal, either. I do hope 2020 is filled with more happiness and good things than this year. :) I pray the Lord gives you good health, lots of love, and plenty in the new year, my friend. God bless!
Cathy, 2019 could have been better for me, but the fact that it wasn't is mainly my own fault. Hoping for better for all of us in 2020.
