This Is Me--2024 A to Z Theme

My A to Z Themes in the past have covered a range of topics and for 2024 the theme is a personal retrospective that I call "I Coulda Been" which is in reference to my job and career arc over my lifetime. I'll be looking at all sorts of occupations that I have done or could have done. Maybe you've done some of these too!

Organizing (Elements of Blogging) #AtoZChallenge

Organization is a topic we often see bloggers discussing.  A blog can easily be devoted to getting organized.  There are many aspects to organization that can be explored in an endless variety of ways.  Organizing home and business in general can keep a blog continuously filled with posts.   Focusing in on organizing closets, drawers, shelves, garages, or the general space around us is information that many people are looking for because they need the ideas to help them better organize their personal world

There are also less tangible topics regarding organizing.   A blog might find ways to organize one's mind, thoughts, schedule, or family life.   Many of us find time in such short supply that we welcome tips on slotting things into the calendar and the daily schedule so we can be sure to get everything done that we need to do or want to do.   Time saving tips can be a huge help to any of us.

Those involved in the writing game might look for better ways to organize their writing.  Tightening up writing to prepare it for the editing stage can save time and money.   If you're good with teaching writing skills, a blog aimed toward getting writers organized to ply their craft more efficiently can be a big help to them.

Some other blog topics in the "O" category are old age, ornithology (the study of birds), optical illusions,  or open forum (varied discussion topics).

Can you think of some blog topics that start with the letter "O"?    Do you tend to read articles about getting organized?   Are you a fan of birds (the feathered kind, but I hope you're a fan of mine as well)?

  2. I started out as an organization blog (interior decor) couldn't keep up though. Plus I felt I was made up of so many different parts with lots to say. Organization alone just restricted me.

    1. When I started out with everyday posts, I frequently discussed topics related to organizing. There are other blogs that do it so much better than I.

  3. Organizing ostrich Origami ornaments!
That would be a very niche site.
Follow lots of writing sites that have organization posts now and then.

  4. I'm attracted to any blog about organization - find it fascinating reading for some dopey reason! I use my blog to organize my writing by putting down my intentions - I guess you could say that my writing blog is an organizing tool of discipline!

    1. I'm the same way--anything about organizing I tend to read. I've even bought books on the topic. Look at my office and garage you might say that I've learned nothing from all of my reading on the subject.

  5. Wow! Such an interesting (useful) topic you're doing. Though I'm not doing the challenge, I've noticed a big change this year. Bloggers are writing posts that resonate with people.

  6. I have a system for everything. I blame it on being a Virgo! For my blog, I keep a list of blog topics with the date next to them. I have ideas (currently) going through July. I pre-write my blogs a month in advance--I'm currently pre-written through May 20. If I don't have a system, I get very frustrated.

  7. Sometimes I'll read tips on organization, but being organized has always been part of my nature. Sometimes I'm so organized I can't find anything.

  8. I'd love to live in an organized house, but the amount of time it would take to achieve this makes it hard to start. The same could be said of other aspects of my life, sad to say.

As for birds, I grew up with a father who loved them and had bird feeders everywhere. He still does and is feeding legions of squirrels, raccoons, and even bears as a result!

I worked for several years in the bird house of a zoo. They had a huge collection at the time. One of the highlights was hand-raising African penguins.

  10. You know, with this simple reminder I think you've solved my overwhelmed feeling about getting into blogging again. If I plan a bit and schedule myself a bit, then it is simple. I'd sort of forgotten that piece in my crazy period when I was publishing serially.

  14. It is funny I tend to use the word schedule a lot in my life. Probably because I dearly want and need one.

Organization is probably something most artist don't have yet all of them need.

  15. Organization ic a good word to sum life up as well as writing.

  16. I've always been a very organized person, clean desk and all that. As a teacher, having leaders that weren't organized was one of my main peeves.

  17. Organization is so vital; I tend to be organized in some areas of my life and in others, i'm sorely lacking. My garage springs to mind: Oh Lord, how I am in need of organizing that garage! I need to be more organized with my time in order to make time for the garage project. Maybe I'm not as organized as I think?...

    1. In some ways I like to think I'm a "method to my madness" sort of organizer. I usually know where most things are though from the onlookers point of view I appear to be very unorganized.

  18. I love birds. We used to have a backyard full of feeders and nesting boxes in NC and they were in regular use as was the water fountain. Running water attracts birds more than still. Not allowed feeders on our balcony here.

they sell (or you could make one) "decorative" things made of "caked" bird seed ... that way you could have a "feeder"....
A blessed weekend to you dear lady...

  19. Things always seem to fall apart if I don't organize some. I try to be at least a little organized at all times, so I know what I'm doing.

  20. My 'O' for the day was r.a.n.t.ing about Onions.
I'd love to see a blog on optical illusions.
As for ornithology, the skit from the cash cab guy (Ben Bailey) is pretty funny. Accidental ornithologist.

  26. Organization is key to starting a job and seeing it through. It helps clear the mind as well. I like organizing things which I have not done in April for obvious reasons:) I am thinking Odes-those poems. Origami, Orientation, openness. Yes I love birds!

  27. My wonderful Zoology professor was also an ornithologist. It was his specialty, and he had a lot of stuffed birds hanging around in his lab. I wasn't as squicked out by them as I thought I'd be, though I far preferred his medical curiosities, like half of a human head in some kind of preserving liquid, a fetal skeleton, and weird X-rays.

  28. This blog posts reminds me I need to do some organization on my various blogs, but I think I will put this task off until after the challenge.

  29. If I don't stay organized, I go nuts. I have projects that need to be set aside (say, for a blogging challenge), and different tasks for different seasons. I do a lot of writing in the winter, with a lighter schedule in the summer...so if I have the year mapped out, and notebooks for each project, I can stay on top of things. Otherwise, I just drift along and then wonder what happened.
