Did the U.S. Really Land on the Moon? (BOTB results)

Since I'm in no position to get into any involved posts at the present, I'll just pose a question for you:

Do you think the U.S. lunar missions were real or faked?

Apparently the Russians have some doubt as expressed in an article in The Daily Mail.  Check out the blog post by Battle of the Bands host Stephen T. McCarthy where he poses the same question of doubt.    Did the U.S. go to the moon or not?  What do you think?

Battle of the Bands Results

One thing that was not faked is the guaranteed status of a classic song standard in my most recent Battle of the Bands post featuring the song "How High the Moon".   The featured performances were by Mitchell Ayres and Mary Ann Mercer who and were up against the classic hit version by Les Paul and Mary Ford.

I had anticipated a possible blowout with all votes going to the Paul/Ford version. I was pleasantly surprised to see that this was not what happened.  Actually what surprised me most was that some voters indicated that they were not familiar with the famous Paul/Ford rendition and in some cases not even the song itself.  Maybe it was that lack of bias that helped Ayres get votes, but more likely it was the classic smooth big band sound.   The Ayres recording fared far better than I had expected.

As for my own vote, I've always liked the Les Paul and Mary Ford version. There's no doubt as to the significance in musical history regarding this version.  However my own personal musical taste draws me to the orchestrated version of Ayres.    I prefer the melodic vocals of Mercer and the sweeping sounds of the big band.  So my vote goes to Mitchell Ayres and Mary Ann Mercer.

Final Tally

Les Paul/Mary Ford              16 Votes

Mitchell Ayres/Mary Ann Mercer    14 Votes

Watch for my next very strange Battle of the Bands post on August 1st.  If you're afraid of clowns this one might disturb you.  Then again it might surprise you.  It will prove to be a royal battle.

  1. Pleased Les Paul and Mary Ford came out on top.
As for the moon question In guess only a handful of people REALLY know the truth.

  2. So glad Les & Mary won that one! And yes I believe they went to the moon. I saw a documentary about it years ago where they tried to recreate the exact conditions seen in the photos, in the desert of CA or NV...somewhere out west....and it couldn't be done. My husband, however, remains skeptical.

    1. Rob, actually I think the Vikings may have landed on the moon nearly 1000 years before the Brits. They pillaged those who were already living there.

We really went to Mars and found aliens, and they don't want anyone to know, so they covered it up with all of that moon nonsense.

    1. Andrew, then again I heard there was a civilization on the dark side of the moon and the moon landing was faked so as not to disclose those findings on the other side. I actually heard that one on the radio the other day when I was driving.

  7. I've never believed the conspiracy theory about the faked moon landing, but wouldn't that be a shocker if proven to be true?! My parents, grandparents and I watched it live (or was it? ☺) in Germany. The memory is so vivid in my mind!
As for BOTB, that was a close one! I was actually expecting Mitchell Ayers to win. Better luck next time, perhaps.

  8. We landed on the moon. I guess it is human nature if an idea is logical to think it is true. Hence so many conspiracy theories. Holocaust deniers are the worst in my opinion. Others like the moon landing, no one gets hurt so I don't care. Climate change is going to put a hurting on those of us around 20 years from now.

And any mind that could even ASK a question like that is clearly unworthy of the truth and unworthy of any more of my time.

    1. First of all, the real point of this post was to announce my BOTB results. I'm surprised that you had no comment about that since I was surprised about the outcome. The lunar landing conspiracy topic was basically a moon lead in to my results announcement.

As to your questions (without repeating them here--those who are interested can look in the comment section of your post), here are my answers:

      1) Without actually knowing more about the contraption I cannot adequately answer the question based on my seeing a photograph.

2 & 3) I don't really know since I haven't studied it to any extent. Interesting observations are made here, but then again I'd like to hear counterarguments that might explain your questioning. There might be some logical explanations that clarify it all.

For me the bottom line is that I don't care all that much. What can I do about it all other than just keep on talking about it and I think others like yourself do far better than I could.

I've got enough to think about that pertains to my own personal life and trying to be a lunar landing expose expert or someone who is trying to pull the curtain away from the liars in government who are deceiving us is not in my realm of interest. I leave all this to those on that mission. I'll listen and might give it all some thought, but in the bigger scope of things I want to know why exactly the lies of government are worth my time to fret about. Sure, maybe somebody needs to pursue all of this, but it's not me at this point. Now if something happens where I acquire a greater expertise in the field then maybe I'll do something, but for now I have to do what I feel capable of doing.

You keep at it. You're doing a fine job, though I don't know how many people you are really changing or what effect you are having to reach the root of the problem. But I don't knock your efforts at all. You bring up interesting stuff and I enjoy reading it. Besides you're much smarter than I when it comes to things like delving into conspiracies.

Were you kind of surprised that the Mitchell Ayres recording of "How High the Moon" did so well in my Battle?

      >>... You're doing a fine job, though I don't know how many people you are really changing or what effect you are having to reach the root of the problem.

I have stated my true objective a godzillion times, so I might as well make it a godzillion and one: I'm not trying to change anything. No man can change what God has had written in the Bible.

I am merely attempting to get people to realize that there is NO LIE the United States Government wouldn't be willing to tell. (After all, it did murder nearly 3,000 of its own citizens in a single day in 2001.) The government is in bed with "the father of lies" (surely you know who that is) and is doing everything it can to bring about the conditions described in Revelation.

So... get right with God while you still have the opportunity to choose "The Way". That is my ONLY message. Sometimes it helps people to grasp this message when they are able to see that the American government is anti-Christ.

How many people am I reaching? It's not a "numbers" game. One is enough. And if you could read the letter I received from "Girl Wonder" Robin who wrote me from camp about the effect I've had on her, and by extension, the effect it may have just had on a number of high school girls at her camp... well, maybe you'd understand my motive better and how great that made me feel. My time and efforts in exposing great lies and pointing to truth have NOT been wasted, even if few "have ears to hear".

My message is more Biblical than political.

Yes, I was very surprised by how well the Mitchell Ayres recording did in your BOTB. I loved it, but I wouldn't have guessed so many others would have sided with such an older style of music.

Well, if you ever come across some, please be sure to let me know. Like I said above, critics and skeptics don't really try to answer questions like these. What they do is run from them and pretend they don't exist.

  17. My ex thinks the Moon landing may have been faked, though I have no reason to doubt the well-documented history saying we did go there. I honestly thought we'd have been terraforming the Moon and Mars by the year 2000, and that space colonies would be a reality by at least 2050. The question I'm most interested in is why we haven't been back up there in so long! I'd still like to believe people will live in outer space, beyond space stations, within my lifetime.

  20. I think the biggest reason I still believe in the moon landing is because if it were faked or didn't really happen, wouldn't other foreign governments have gone out of their way to disprove it a long time ago? I've read several articles about this and I have seen good points both for and against the hoax conspiracy. The hoax theory has been around for a long time. And I've never taken conspiracy theorists very seriously. So until they can prove to me it didn't happen, I have no reason not to believe it didn't. I mean, come on. We can put a man on the moon, but we can't prove that we didn't put a man on the moon?
