After that first whirlwind of a year I set up another blog to continue writing. While I still write stories on my ancestors, I write for myself and I’ve enjoyed participating in the April A to Z since 2016. My favorite A to Z was writing about Nancy Drew as I began recollecting my childhood books back Jeanne Bryan Insalacohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04199669886414029814noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-149224757183756660.post-42606339372482705262019-04-05T06:42:24.722-07:002019-04-05T06:42:24.722-07:00Cathy, blogging gets a bit addicting in a sense--o...Cathy, blogging gets a bit addicting in a sense--or at least intellectually compelling.

LeeArlee Birdhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11663942782929929334noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-149224757183756660.post-46236242067550014422019-04-04T17:18:36.644-07:002019-04-04T17:18:36.644-07:00Lee,

That didn't blow over too well but I did discover a wonderful community among bloggers and decided to stick around. I'm so glad that I did. Some things have changed but I wouldn't say a lot. I try to keep my blogging life low-key and fun for the most part while occasionally throwing something education in the mix just because it interests. I guess the biggest change has been adding my art sketches. It was this challenge that spurred me to take a leap of faith to try my hand at it after years of doing nothing and wishing. :) Happy A2Zing!Cathy Kennedyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01738079671642137018noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-149224757183756660.post-54102088240894873622019-04-03T21:49:47.062-07:002019-04-03T21:49:47.062-07:00Zulu, if at least a few people didn't read my ...Zulu, if at least a few people didn't read my posts I'd like stop writing them. I've been trying to be very careful with what I say anymore on my blog as a lot of people get so offended about things that are in disagreement with them. One of my posts came to the attention of a mentally imbalanced blogger, and as usual when she discovered people discussing her blog, she ranted about it and got her sycophantic friends all whipped up. I know they must've reported my entire website, since some of them sent me nasty e-mails. I learnt a really important lesson from that, not to use strangers' real names, nor to mention their blogs even as a jumping-off point to discuss a wider issue. Thankfully, I was able to recover a lot of files through cache and archive searches (and some were transcribed from my own journal entries, so they were never in danger of being lost), but I did fail to recover a lot of important posts.

My blog's focus was originally writing, both my own writing in particular and the craft of writing in general. Over time, I branched out to discuss books, films, albums, and historical topics, since so many other writers have branched out with their blogs too, and I didn't want to have yet another writing blog that could've been interchanged with anyone else's.Carrie-Annehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05810154378449825641noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-149224757183756660.post-60160232270093839752019-04-03T07:08:22.508-07:002019-04-03T07:08:22.508-07:00Blogging is tough if you don't have a specific...Blogging is tough if you don't have a specific theme, so I'm trying to come up with the right idea to use as I move forward with my blog. Lately, my posts have been random and inconsistent, which does not attract an audience. As much as I've been reading lately, I'm thinking I might focus on book reviews. It started out as everything about me except my caregiving experience. Then it happened. One day I just had to write about her and it came bubbling out - my readers responded immediately. Apparently there are lots of caregivers out there and they all struggled. After she died the blog became all about me again. This blog holds so much of me now - and I have so many friendships from it, it is almost a living thing.

Books - love them but have mostly audible and kindle. Trying to keep the number of personal possessions limited now - downsizing, decluttering, minimizing as I get older. I still love the actual book and own a few specially loved ones, but too much stuff causes me stress. Not going down that path of overwhelming clutter again.

Thanks to you and your team for this Challenge (my 3rd time around).
